Your privacy

The Book of You is run by Lynx Community Co. Your Book is private, and this page says what we keep, why, and who else is involved.

Your Book is yours

What you write in your Book is private to your account. Nobody at the Book of You reads it, and no guide, coach or practitioner can open any part of it unless you give them a key. You can take a key back at any time.

What we keep

Your name, email address, and what you choose to tell us when you set up your Book. What you write, so your Book can read it back to you. Events you register for and what you paid. If you add a mobile number for texts, that number and what you agreed to be texted about.

Who works with us

A few services carry out parts of the work for us, and see only what that part needs: SendGrid sends our emails, Stripe takes card payments, Telnyx sends our text messages, and Anthropic’s Claude reads what you write so your Book can reflect it back to you. None of them may use what you share for their own purposes.

What we never do

We never sell your information, and we never share it for anyone’s marketing.

Sharing with the Book of Us

Something from your Book reaches the Book of Us only when you send it there yourself. You can share without your name, and you can take back anything you shared at any time.

Leaving

You can delete your account from Settings. Your Book and everything in it goes with it.

Text messages

The Book of You texts only people with an account who add their own mobile number in Settings, confirm it with a code, and tick the kinds of texts they would like: reminders for the practices and reflections they set, their next step after a journey, reminders for events they registered for, a note when a message is waiting in their Book, and changes to their account. Agreeing is never a condition of anything.

Up to 4 texts a day, and never during your quiet hours. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop all texts; you get one message saying so, and nothing after it. Reply START to turn texts back on, or HELP for information. You can also change or stop texts in Settings at any time. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Texts never contain what you write in your Book. We keep your number, what you ticked, when, and the words you saw when you agreed, so we can show you chose to receive them. A number that replied STOP stays on our do not text list. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your agreement to receive texts and your number are not shared with anyone.
